What methods do you use?
Kaizen Canine believes in taking an open-minded approach to canine training. We tailor our methods to the demands of each dog, acknowledging that each dog is unique. Our trainers are proficient in a variety of strategies because not every method is effective for every dog. We are committed to discovering the best approach to help you and your dog achieve your goals through training that is tailored to each individual situation. We are not limited to any specific type of training or training tools.
How many sessions do I need? How often are they?
This all depends on your goals for your dog. People who want intermediate to advanced levels of instruction usually start around 8. For those who only desire basic instruction, level 5 is an excellent place to start. The easiest way to find out is to schedule a transformation session, when we will learn more about your dogs and determine the appropriate quantity.
Where are the sessions? Are they in our home?
Our sessions are held in locations that are convenient for you and your dog. We usually start at home or in the neighborhood. Once your dog begins to flourish, we will move to new venues to generalize the training. Our most successful clients typically meet us in our facilities and on field trips to nearby locations.
Should I do 1-on-1 Coaching or a Live & Train Retreat?
If you enjoy learning new skills and have excellent time management abilities, 1-on-1 Coaching is ideal for you. In 1-on-1 Coaching, you will work directly with our trainers to address your dog's unique needs and concerns. Our most successful coaching clients work from home and have the time to implement their knowledge. They also show their work in between sessions so they progress fast.

If you are short on time and want your dog to act differently the next time you see them, consider attending the Live & Train Retreat. The Live and Train Retreat is an immersive program in which your dog remains with us for extensive training and behavior work, allowing for faster growth in a controlled setting. If you have serious behavior modification demands, such as dog/human aggressiveness or extreme dog/human reactivity.

What you learn

Name Recognition & Recall

Your dog understanding its name and to come when called could save itself and most definitely will provide you peace of mind. It is pretty annoying when you have to constantly repeat your dog's name and you know they hear it but blow you off. No worries this is the first thing we will tackle with your dog.

What you learn

Loose Leash Walking

The truth is you probably are tired of being dragged and you would like for your dog to know how to walk by side. To us loose leash walking comes easily with a dog that is motivated and understands how to find its advantage.

What you learn

Spot Training

Imagine you have guests come over and you finally have a spot for your dog to go? Or even better your dog hears guests approaching and makes the decision to go on their own. These are the goals we aspire for you and your dog. I mean how cool would it be to be able to have a spot where your dog can chill out after you play with them or while you are cooking.

What you learn

Basic Obedience

On our phone calls everyday people share with us that their biggest wish is a dog that is more responsive. Your dog will learn how to listen to commands sooner, and a lot of times before you even get the chance to tell them.

How our dog training works

Book Transformation Session

Book a call or give us a ring to connect with our team and schedule our transformation session for your dog. One of our Communications Specialists will confirm your appointment and give you some homework to prepare for our time together.

Attend Transformation Session

The consultation is essential for us to learn about your dog’s background, history, and your relationship with them. You’ll meet our staff, tour the center, and discuss training methods that might be right for your dog. This session helps us create a customized training plan and see if we’re a good fit to work together long-term. We also provide the option to do this in-home depending on your location.

Custom Tailored Training Program

Based on the consultation, we’ll suggest the best training options for your dog. Whether you choose coaching or our live and train program, we’ll design a personalized training plan focused on your dog’s specific needs and our expert recommendations.

In-Person & Virtual Training

Our programs are available in both virtual and in-person formats to fit your schedule. Each program includes simple and practical homework to help you stay consistent with your dog’s training. Remember, consistency is key—just like in fitness, “Use it or lose it!”

Graduation

After completing your course, we’ll guide you on the next steps. You’re always welcome at Kaizen Canine, where you can join our continuation services, like socialization classes, advanced obedience, or our monthly club events. These options help you maintain your dog’s training and keep them engaged.

I enjoyed my first session with kaizen Canine. They listened to all my concerns and walk me through what was right and wrong in my part. I enjoyed how they demonstrated different ways to train my dog. The dog-handlers are well knowledgeable about how to take handle any dog that is given to them. (Arés is tried from the session)

We reached out to Kaizen Canine for training our dog, ButterBean. Due to conflicting advice from our vet, we didn’t socialize him much when we first got him, which led to a lot of separation anxiety.
Our trainer, Taijon, did an amazing job socializing ButterBean with other dogs and people. ButterBean came back with a clear understanding of rules and boundaries, and he even started learning impulse control. He’s really good with other dogs when he’s not on a leash now.
We know that training is a long-term process and that it’s really on us to maintain structure and further his development. ButterBean is still a work in progress and probably always will be, but we’ve learned so much about this challenging breed and continue to learn (and make mistakes, lol). We understand that the success of training is truly dependent on us as owners.
A special thank you to Taijon for taking the time to meet with us and answer all our questions. Kaizen K9 has given us the tools to be successful. Now it’s up to us to apply them.

Before my dog Shi’a went through Kaizen Canine’s  35 day Boarding Training he was truly hard to handle. Shi’a is 8 months old and would nibble on hands, refuse to go in his cage, jumping on guest, pulling on walks and terrible at care rides. I was anxious about leaving my fur baby for 35 days but I knew it was necessary. It was truly the BEST decision I’ve ever made. Kaizen Canine’s team is amazing and are very patient with pets and parents. They educated my family and I on the equipment used, diet and commands to use. I was worried that when Shi’a returned I would not be as consistent and efficient with training like Taijon and Francisco. They do an amazing job with encouraging pet owners and also supply multiple walk through videos. Being a dog mom that’s also a healthcare worker doing 12hrs shifts is tough but we take it one day at a time and are doing amazing. There is also ongoing monthly classes where Shi’a will get to be around other dogs and parents so we all learn together. This was an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone in the Atlanta area that has a dog big or small that needs some obedience training!

I had the pleasure of working with Taijon while he was in California recently and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience! Taijon is a super nice person, easy to communicate with and it’s very obvious how much he actually cares about the dogs and the owners all enjoying the learning process. I look forward to working with him again, so much so I may be planning a trip to Atlanta just to do so! Thank you Taijon!

I am extremely happy with the training experience with Kaizen and the team of trainers. My dog now displays great confidence on his walks and interaction around other dogs and people. His response to voice commands is very impressive and he is very engaged at home as we continue to train at home on a daily basis. I appreciate all of the follow up subsequent to training, to check in on how things have been going and the continued advice that is shared.

I highly recommend! My Yorkie was struggling with house training and obedience.  They came highly recommended from close family friends and I couldn’t be happier.  The team is pleasant and very professional, communication was consistent through the 5-week training, and the return home has been seamless.   This is hands down the best investment made this year.  Thank you Kaizen Canine!
